800 units to be built alongside 2 freeway despite warnings

September 16, 2017

Council members Jose Huizar and Paul Koretz recently filed a motion asking for “strategies to address the hazard of freeway pollution affecting residents of new and existing structures”.  Regardless, developers are proceeding with plans for huge housing projects directly alongside the 2 Freeway (and on either side of the railroad tracks) in Glassell Park.  One at Casitas Avenue, the “Bowtie Lofts” consists of 419 units, and the other, on San Fernando Road plans 370 apartments.

How these additional 800 units will impact traffic is the subject of letters from the GPIA and GPNC to our Councilmembers and LADoT.
