It was a cool but sunny day, great for cleaning and gardening. That is just what eleven of us did. We finished the planting started the week earlier by Janis McCarthy. We watered all of the plantings and the trees behind the monument. Additionally, we picked up trash on the island and on both sides of the adjacent streets.
Thanks to the following Flash Cleanup team members: Heather Sabin and her boyfriend, Joe; Roberto Ayala and his girlfriend, Angela; Bob Ammons; Joan Potter; Dorothy McCain; Janis McCarthy; Marcie Rose; Jim Kiehl and Carlos Cabrera.
Special thanks to Hal’s Eagle Rock Pet Shop for letting us use their water. Also, to Lucy Aparicio of CD 14 for getting the bags of trash picked up.
Our next cleanup is Saturday, January 16th at 8:30am. Meet at W. Avenue 30 & Carlyle Street next to Glassell Park Elementary School and Glassell Park Early Education Center. This event will be a joint cleanup with the Glassell Park Neighborhood Council and Council District 1 for our annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.
